MAGNIFICENT IN MASON CITY!

The ladies and gentlemen of BSS/SAS put on a stellar performance on August 23rd in Mason City, defeating the Illini Central team handily by margins of 23 points and 11 points respectively. GREAT JOB TEAM! Two years ago in Mason City the heat index reached 115 degrees when we ran, and last year it was raining on us. So Tuesday's beautiful, sunny day was perfect!
Leading the pack for the BSS/SAS gals as well as placing first overall was distance veteran Jessica
M. (13:23). Following Jessica and landing in the BSS/SAS TOP 7 were runners' extraordinaire Emily
D. (13:53) and Mackenzie W. (14:09), who finished second and third overall. Next were standouts Kayla
K. (14:26), Maria L. (14:29), Kristin G. (14:36), and Madie
A. (15:11). Other gals not far behind included Danielle
H. (15:14), newcomer Jenna H. (15:20), Kelly K. (15:43) and Morgan
C. (15:53).
Finding the finish line first for BSS/SAS gentlemen and placing second overall in the meet was front-runner Sean
R. (11:43). Next across with an outstanding run and placing third overall was Joe
W. (12:10), followed by veteran runner Sean O. (12:51). Also in the top of the pack were rambo runners Michael
R. (13:14), Griffin L. (13:25), Eric D. (13:26), and Mason
S. (13:42). Other guys not far behind included Joey
S. (14:02), Corbin M. (14:06), Josh M. (14:11), and Brendan
F. (14:17)
We are SO VERY PROUD of every one of you! From the VETERAN RUNNERS who shaved significant time off of their last year's personal records to the NEW RUNNERS who ALL COMPLETED the 2 mile race, you all deserve a pat on the back for your hard work and diligent efforts. You are amazing and we look forward to watching you improve your times and enjoy being part of the cross country team.
This meet was fun to watch, with a notable atmosphere of good sportsmanship. Our team members do a great job of cheering each other on and encouraging one another to stretch the limits, and that is probably what we are most proud of. It is so important to support our fellow team members no matter where they cross the finish line. Keep up the fantastic work and let's try to encourage a continued spirit of camaraderie. It is an honor to be associated with such tremendous Christian athletes!
