BRILLIANT AT BRADLEY!

The maroon and gold definitely made their presence felt at the Bradley Open yesterday at Dettweiler Park in Peoria. The boys left their mark with a first place team finish, while the girls left an impression on the crowd with a second place finish. Scoring was as follows: BOYS: BSS/SAS 27, Tremont 81, Kingsley 84, St. Joe's 105, Delavan 105, Farmington 138. GIRLS: Tremont 19, BSS/SAS 62, Delavan 68, Farmington 84, Kingsley 129.
This just might have been our hottest meet to date! The course, though in a park, contains virtually no shade. Our runners had to hang tough in the heat and humidity, and they certainly did just that. This course is usually a favorite because it is 3000 METERS rather than 2 miles. Translated, that is 1.8 miles. Our runners' times look amazing not only because they are amazing, but also because they are running 200 meters less than on most courses.
Breaking the string for the BSS/SAS boys as well as winning the overall title in the competition was distance demon SEAN
R. (10:45). Tried and true runner JOEY W. (11:12) was next with a third place overall in the competition, followed closely by consistent contributor SEAN
O. (11:18). Crossing the line next were supreme striders GRIFFIN
L. (12:06), MICHAEL R. (12:08), MASON S. (12:21), and JOSH
M. (12:31). Also entering the chute among our top runners were stellar striders CORBIN
M. (12:53), ANTHONY R. (12:59), and MICHAEL K. (13:02). All of our boys did a fantastic job at this meet, as you can see from the complete results listed below.
For the BSS/SAS gals, it was veteran runner JESSICA
M. (12:03) leading the way for our team and placing third overall. Following with a powerful performance was magnificent MORGAN
C. (14:21); not far behind was amazing ALEXANDRIA M. (14:54), DANIELLE
H. (14:56), MADISON C. (15:13), KATIE L. (15:40), and ELIZABETH
F. (16:14). Also crossing the line among our top runners were hard workers CHRISTINE
M. (16:29), ELLEN W. (17:31), and LEXI E. (17:37). Super job for all of our girls!
Our team members who ran at Petersburg this morning said it was freezing (just kidding) and did a fantastic job. Look for a press release on that meet very soon........
