Dear St.
Agnes School Families,
The arrival of March means that it is already time to begin
planning for a new school year!
Attached to today’s Newsletter are the family forms
for the 2010-2011 school year re-registration.
Please return both
the registration form and the tuition payment preference
form along with a registration fee of $50 per child as soon
as possible or by Monday, March 15th.
Please list any kindergarteners and preschoolers on
this form also.
On the bottom of the form, please list any “future” St.
Agnes students.
If you are not planning to return to St. Agnes, I ask
families to indicate this, also.
The numbers in classes make a difference in our
planning and purchase of materials.
Tuition Assistance Applications are now available in
the school office.
This application is for those families seeking help
with tuition for the 2010-2011 school year.
Please stop by to pick up these papers from Jackie
Rocco in the school office.
There is a $20 fee for this process.
When completed, the application goes to FACTS for
evaluation and recommendations are made to Fr. Bob and me
about family need.
The amount of tuition assistance granted depends on
the number of families requesting this help and the funds
available.
Thank you to all who helped with the Mardi Gras for
the Missions this year.
Special thanks to Michelle Sorenson who organized
this event and to the Room Parents who set up and staffed
the booths. The
Mardi Gras netted almost $3500.00.
This week two of our teachers who were on maternity
leave have returned to their classes, Mrs. Traci Knisley (2nd)
and Mrs. Katie Mirkovic (8th).
Next week Mrs. Andrea Narup (1st) will
return. I am so
grateful to the three teachers who have been with us the
last few months: Mrs. Carolyn Harris, Mrs. Michelle Sorenson
and Ms. Mary Beth Lynn.
They have given our students so much with their
presence, their care and instruction each day. We wish them
God’s blessings!
We continue to pledge each day to be PeaceBuilders in
our school, community and homes.
This month we are working on the fifth principle of
the program…to right wrongs.
When students are involved in an issue that is
unchristian, time is spent with the students looking at the
behaviors that caused the incident but also looking at what
needs to be done to right the wrong of the situation.
When they say I am sorry to one another, they are
asked to use words that include an explanation of what they
are sorry about and what they will correct in their
behaviors toward another.
This Friday, March 5th, St. Ages Jr. High
will be hosting a dance for all of the Catholic school 7th
& 8th graders in the St. Agnes gym from 7:00 p.m.
until 9:00 p.m.
Eighth grade parents are reminded of the request for
donations of soda for this dance.
Students coming to this dance are asked to bring can
goods to be shared with those in need in our community.
Spring Picture Day is Wednesday, March 10th.
Students may dress down on this day but must follow
the school policies for Dress Down days.
All students are photographed but the purchase of the
pictures is optional.
Pictures are paid for when the packages come back.
Faith Reflection:
“Grace is about the surprising relationship with us
that God initiates, sustains, cherishes, and never refuses.
Grace isn’t quantitative and measurable; it’s
qualitative, relational, and immeasurable.
Our God is One who says, “See!
I have inscribed you on the palms of my hands”
(Isaiah 49:16).
So God’s grace is less about winning divine favor by being
“good” than about God’s Amazing prodigal love.
Like the father in Jesus’ famous parable (Luke
15:11-32), God is always on he lookout for an excuse to
throw a party and welcome us home.
Grace isn’t about bargaining with a miser; it’s about
homecoming.”
-Nathan Mitchell
Thanking God for grace,
Sr. Joan
