Annual Fund Drive 2009-2010
January 28, 2010
ANNUAL FUND STUDENT PIZZA PARTY
CONTEST UNDERWAY
Parent response to the Annual Fund Committee's student pizza party contest has been phenomenal. There is still time for parents to complete and return the annual fund solicitation envelope. Your support will help fund this year’s SMART-Connect project to expand on-line communication and access for parents, faculty and students, replacing existing, outdated classroom computers and install additional classroom SMART Boards. The first class to achieve 100% participation will get a pizza party in their classroom. The contest runs until February 15th.
St. Agnes School has launched its Annual Fund Drive for 2009-10 with the SMART-Connect project. SMART-Connect is the second phase of our school’s multi-phase technology upgrade. Last year, through your support, St. Agnes School completed the first phase SMART Lab initiative, which upgraded our existing computer lab and installed state-of-the-art network infrastructure to pave the way for extending interactive learning into all of the classrooms.
This year, we are eager to begin the SMART-Connect project and are asking St. Agnes families to continue their generous support. SMART-Connect will make technology a more integral part of how our students learn, and will provide teachers and students with essential interactive teaching tools to use every day, in each of their classrooms. SMART-Connect will help fund replacement of existing, outdated computers in the classrooms, installation of additional classroom SMART Boards™ and expansion of on-line communication and access for parents, faculty, administrators and students.
SMART-Connect on-line communication software will connect St. Agnes parents, teachers and school administrators. What will this mean for the St. Agnes School community? Families will be able to check on-line the progress of their children’s classroom schoolwork. Teachers will be able to more efficiently share schedules, assignments and study information with parents and
students. In the classrooms, SMART-Connect tools, for example, allow science students to collaboratively use SMART Board™ technology to dissect a frog, increasing the students’ conceptual understanding of anatomy. Students will gain experience with technology, an ever-increasing component of school, work, and everyday life.
St. Agnes Parishioners will be receiving a letter, SMART-Connect brochure and pledge card in the mail within the next week. Please help continue to keep the St. Agnes tradition of excellence in Catholic education alive with your contribution this year to the school’s Annual Fund Drive. |
