Saint Agnes Parish is a Catholic community that serves parishioners living in the west-central and portions of the northwestern corner of the City of Springfield, Illinois. As an outward sign of our belief and devotion to Jesus Christ, this Internet Site is a direct extension of our parish. All content contained on this site comes directly from either the Parish Office and/or the Saint Agnes School Office. The information contained on this site is provided to the parishioners of Saint Agnes Parish and School and to those individuals interested our Catholic community. Some information published by the Parish is edited prior to placement on our internet site. The following is a general outline of those editorial actions: 1. By Saint Agnes School Board direction, no pictures of any Saint Agnes School student(s) will be placed on the Internet site. This action has been extended to include Parish School of Religion (PSR) Students and all school and parish organizational groups (I.e. Scouts). This policy has been amended (February 3, 2003) by the Saint Agnes School Board and approved (February 5, 2003) by the Pastor to include individual and/or group photographs of students that are commemorating special religious, academic and/or sports related events. These photographs can be placed on the Internet site only through the direction and approval of the Principal and/or the Pastor. The parents/guardians of all students identified in any potential photograph must sign a waiver of responsibility for that action. A copy of the waiver must be on file in the School and/or Parish offices prior to placement of the photograph on the Internet site. This amendment has been extended to Parish School of Religion (PSR) Students and to all school and parish organizational groups (i.e. Scouts). To get a copy of the waiver form click here on Internet Photo Waiver (7 KB). Please forward the completed form to the appropriate Parish or School office. The Parish and/or School office will direct the WebEditor on the inclusion and placement of any photographs. All questions and/or comments should be directed to either the Parish and/or School offices. 2. The complete and full name of any child enrolled in Saint Agnes School, the Parish School of Religion (PSR) and/or participants in all school and parish organizational groups (i.e. Scouts) will not be included on the Internet site. Children will be identified by their first name and last name initial. (I.e. Sally G.). If it is unclear through the text reference, whether the name is that of a child or an adult and no confirmation is readily available, the name will be truncated to match the child's naming rule. This policy has been amended by the Saint Agnes School Board (February 3, 2003) and approved by the Pastor (February 5, 2003) to exclude the names of any students on Parish Web pages that include photographs. This action has been extended to include Parish School of Religion (PSR) Students and all school and parish organizational groups (I.e. Scouts) 3. Publication of phone numbers will be restricted to known agencies and groups (i.e. school, parish, diocese etc.). We will endeavor to not publish home phone numbers, unless necessary for content purposes. Anyone placing information in the Sunday Bulletin, the School Newsletter, the Spirit Magazine or other parish publications and request that their phone number be included on the web site, should notify the Parish Office and/or the School Office of this request.
