Have you bought your tickets yet to the March 13th Parish Auction here at St. Agnes? If you don't buy a ticket, you obviously can't attend. If you can't attend -- aside from missing out on the huge spread of food, bottled beer and frozen margaritas, all just for the $20 cost of your ticket, you're going to miss out on a chance to bid on and buy some very unique items this year. In fact, the Auction team believes we have the best Live Auction we've had in the 5-year history of the event. This year there's a private plane ride available. Two or three of you can take a plane ride from here to your destination of choice within about a 5-hr. flight radius. Do you and your girlfriends want to go shopping in Indy or at the high-end Lighthouse outlet mall in Gary, Indiana? Maybe you and your buddies want to go to a game up at Madison or over at Mizzou? Or does a husband & wife or boyfriend & girlfriend want to fly off for a romantic dinner in Chicago or a rib dinner down in Memphis? It's all possible thanks to a generous parishioner who just happens to be an experienced pilot with his own plane. How about some special golf? In fact, why not golf where the legends have golfed? We're offering a rare chance for you and three of your golfing buddies to play the 27th ranked Golf Course in the Country -- Kemper Lakes Private Golf Course in suburban Chicago. Kemper Lakes has played host to some of golf's greatest players and most prestigious events, including the 1989 PGA Championship, six Senior PGA Tour events, four Grand Slam of Golf events and the USGA Women's Amateur Championship. Come walk in the footsteps of some of the greatest golfers of our time, including: Tiger Woods, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Annika Sorenstam, Greg Norman, Hale Irwin and the 1989 PGA Champion, Payne Stewart. It used to cost $600 or $700 to play there when it was public. Now it's a private course and unless you're willing to plunk down the $60,000 in cash for a membership, it's off limits...unless of course, you buy this exclusive package at the Auction! Honestly, we have a little something for everyone in this year's Live Auction. For example, we have signed artwork from some of America's best known and most beloved artists including Norman Rockwell, Terry Redlin and Thomas Kinkade. Plus, there's so much more. Next week watch for info on the four condo stays we have available in Florida, Alabama and North Carolina; myriad catered dinners including the Shrimp Boil, homemade Lebanese and Mexican meals, or good ol' chilli 'n' fixin's; as well as some pretty awesome sports memorabilia and game tickets. Remember though, no matter how awesome any of it is, none of it is available to you unless you attend the Auction on March 13. Auction tickets are available after all Masses this weekend. They continue to sell fast and the already limited supply is dwindling. Keep in mind, we've sold out every year, and obviously expect this year to be no different. So don't delay if you plan to attend the Parish's biggest, most fun social event of the year. Please know, your donations to this event make a huge difference. Even though we obviously have an incredible Live Auction that's ready to go, we still need more items for the Silent Auction. Large or small, we're interested in it. The more unique, more exclusive, the better. Yet, it's the combination of everything that helps us raise what we do. In just the past 3 or 4 years, the School's portion of the Auction proceeds has resulted in a new Pre-School, new Science Lab and new Computer SMART Lab for our students. Your generosity is more than appreciated, it is directly responsible for enhancing and expanding the educational resources available to the school children of our Parish. Thank you! Any Auction ideas, suggestions or questions, either visit us after any Mass or contact Event Co-Chairs Joe Khayyat (joekhayyat@yahoo.com or 414-7887) and Andy Nichols (andy@proimageil.com or 341-1033). |
